Effective date: June 29, 2026  |  Last updated: June 29, 2026  |  Version 2026-06-29

WhatWeShouldSee respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This page explains how to submit a takedown notice and a counter-notice, and how we handle repeat infringers.

1. How to Contact Us About Copyright

Send DMCA notices and counter-notices to the email address below. We monitor this inbox and will respond promptly. Our designated agent registration with the U.S. Copyright Office under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2) is in progress; once complete we will publish the agent’s full mailing address here.

2. Filing a Takedown Notice (DMCA § 512(c)(3))

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works on a single site, a representative list).
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — ideally the direct URL on WhatWeShouldSee.
  4. Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Notice: under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that content is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.

3. Counter-Notice (DMCA § 512(g)(3))

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the U.S., for any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original takedown notice or that person’s agent.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original notice submitter and may restore the removed content after 10–14 business days, unless the original submitter notifies us that they have filed a court action.

4. Repeat-Infringer Policy

In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A), WhatWeShouldSee terminates the accounts of users we determine in our sole discretion to be repeat infringers of copyright.

5. Trademark Complaints

For trademark complaints, please send notice to dmca@whatweshouldsee.com with a description of the trademark, the allegedly infringing content, and your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
